Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Automatically Turn On or Off Wi-Fi in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

Instead of manually enable or disable Wi-Fi connection in your phone, you can set your phone to auto-connect to or auto-disconnect from Wi-Fi networks at the times you want. You can do so by setting the Wi-Fi timer so that your phone will automatically enable or disable Wi-Fi at the scheduled times.

How to set Wi-Fi timer?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Network connection section and then tap Wi-Fi .
  3. If Wi-Fi is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  4. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Advanced.
  5. Tap Wi-Fi timer.
  6. Set a starting time:
    • Check the box next to Set start time.
    • Tap the Wi-Fi timer (hour and minute) to adjust the starting time when your phone has to enable Wi-Fi.
  7. Set an ending time:
    • Check the box next to Set end time.
    • Tap the Wi-Fi timer (hour and minute) to adjust the ending time when your phone has to disable Wi-Fi.
  8. Tap Done button.
  9. The Wi-Fi timer has been set and Wi-Fi in your phone will automatically turn on and off at the scheduled times. FYI, when the Wi-Fi has been turned off according to the Wi-Fi timer, you can still enable Wi-Fi manually if you wish to continue using your Wi-Fi connection to use Internet.
