Home screen is the starting point where you can access apps, features, and other functions in your Samsung Galaxy S8. How to customise your home screen?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers or long tap on an empty area to go to the screen where you can customise your home screen.
  2. To add more home screen panels, do as follows:
    • Tap + below the home screen panels to quickly go to the panel that you can use to add a new one.
    • Tap the home screen panel with + inside.
    • A new home screen panel has been added. Now, you can use it to place more shortcuts to your favourite apps or widgets on your home screen so you can easily and quickly reach them each time you need.
  3. To remove a home screen panel, do as follows:
    • Swipe the screen to the left or right to find the home screen panel you want to remove.
    • Tap at the top right corner of the home screen panel.
    • Tap Delete button to confirm removing the selected home screen panel.
    • The selected home screen panel and its contents(apps shortcuts and widgets) have been removed.
  4. To rearrange home screen panels, do as follows:
    • Swipe the screen to the left or right to find the home screen panel you want to change its position.
    • Tap and hold the home screen panel and then drag it to other location.
    • The selected home screen panel has been moved to other location. As a note, it'd better if you place your favourite home screen panels in the top 3 position for easier access to those panels.
  5. To change the default/main home screen, do as follows:
    • Swipe the screen to the left or right to find the home screen panel you want to set as the main home screen panel.
    • Tap above the home screen panel.
    • The selected home screen panel has been set as the main home screen. Now, you can easily access this home screen panel from any screen simply by tapping the Home key.

4. From the edge screen panel
You can easily launch the Camera app from the edge screen panel if you have added the Camera app in the apps edge panel or added the specific function of the Camera app in the tasks edge panel. However, if you access the edge screen panel from the lock screen while the it's locked with a secure screen lock type, such as PIN or fingerprint, you have to perform the screen lock first before the Camera app is opened.

5. By using the quick launch camera feature
If you have enabled the quick launch camera feature, you can quickly launch the Camera app from any screen simply by pressing the Home key twice in quick succession.

6. By using S Voice command
If you have activated your S voice wake up command, you can easily launch the Camera app from any screen simply by saying "Hi Galaxy, open Camera". Your phone has to be connected to the Internet to make it works.

7. By using voice search"OK Google" detection
While you're using the Google voice search, you can say "OK Google, open Camera" to launch the Camera app. You can also use this voice command in any screen to launch the Camera app in condition that you have activated your voice search"OK Google" detection in the Google settings. Wallpaper motion effect is a feature in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that will let you apply a motion effect to the home screen wallpaper so it will move slightly when you tilt your phone.


How to enable or disable the wallpaper motion effect feature?
You can turn on or off this feature by using two different methods: from a home screen panel and from the settings menu.

Method #1: From a home screen panel
  1. On the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers or long tap on an empty area of the screen to go to the edit screen.
  2. Tap the Wallpapers button at the bottom of the screen to go to the wallpaper menu.
  3. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Wallpaper motion effect to enable or disable it. When the switch turns blue , means the wallpaper motion effect feature is enabled.

Method #2: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Wallpaper and then tap it.
  3. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Wallpaper motion effect to enable or disable it. When the switch turns blue , means the wallpaper motion effect feature is enabled.


How to use the wallpaper motion effect feature?
When this feature is enabled, go to a home screen panel and then tilt your phone left and right or top and bottom and you'll see the home screen wallpaper will move so slightly.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Set Same Image as Home and Lock Screens Wallpapers at the Same Time in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

When needed, you can set the same image, either default wallpaper or your own image, as the background image of the home and lock screens in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in one go. It's a simpler way and can save you more time because you don't have to set them one by one.


How to set the same image as the home and lock screens wallpapers?
As the example, we'll do so by using three different methods: from the home screen, from the settings menu, and from the Gallery app.

Method #1: From the home screen
You can change the background image of the home screen and lock screen at the same time from a home screen panel by using the following steps:
  1. On the home screen, pinch the screen using two fingers or long tap on an empty area to go to the edit screen.
  2. Tap Wallpapers button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the drop down box at the top of the screen and then select Home and lock screens.

    • Select the required image you want to use and then tap the Set as wallpaper button to set the selected image as the home and lock screens wallpapers.
  5. To use other pre-loaded wallpaper as the home and lock screens wallpapers, do as follows:
    • Swipe the bottom of the screen that displays the wallpaper thumbnails to the left to view available pre-loaded wallpapers.
    • Tap the required thumbnail of a pre-loaded wallpaper you want to use and then tap the Set as wallpaper button to set the selected wallpaper as the home and lock screens wallpapers.

Method #2: From the settings menu
You can change the background image of the home and lock screens at the same time from the settings menu by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down the screen to find Wallpaper and then tap it.
  3. Tap the drop down box at the top of the screen and then select Home and lock screens.

Method #3: From the Gallery app
You can use the following steps to easily set any image saved in your phone as the home and lock screens wallpapers:
  1. Open the Gallery app.
  2. Tap an album and then select the required image you want to use as the home and lock screens wallpapers.
  3. Tap More at the top right and then select Set as wallpaper.
  4. Tap Home and lock screens.
  5. Tap the Set as wallpaper button to set the selected image as the home and lock screens wallpapers.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Manage Shortcuts Area on Home Screen in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

By default, the shortcuts area at the bottom of the home screen in your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge displays 5 shortcuts of the most favourite apps, they are likely: Phone app, Internet app, Messages app, Contacts app, and Apps. These shortcuts will always be displayed even when you're in other home screen panels. Thus, it'd better if use this area to place your most favourite apps for easier and faster access.


How to manage the shortcuts area on the home screen?
When needed, you can remove, add, or rearrange apps shortcuts at the bottom of the home screen by using the following steps:
  1. To remove an app shortcut from the shortcuts area on the home screen, tap and hold an app shortcut and then drag it to the Trash can icon at the top of the screen. You can repeat this step if you'd like to remove more apps shortcuts.
  2. Adding an app shortcut to the shortcuts area.
    As the example, we'll add a shortcut to the settings menu to the shortcuts area in the home screen by using these steps:
    • On the Home screen, tap Apps at the bottom right corner to go to the apps screen.
    • When needed, swipe the screen to the left or right to find the Settings.
    • Tap and hold the Settings and then drag it to the empty area at the bottom of the home screen to add it to the shortcuts area. If there's no more empty area, drag the app shortcut over another app shortcut then release it when a folder frame appears around the selected apps shortcuts to create a folder to place the selected apps shortcuts at the same place. It can be an alternative way if you'd like to display more than 5 shortcuts in the shortcuts area on the home screen.
    • A shortcut to the settings menu has been added to the shortcuts area on the home screen.
  3. To change the order of the apps shortcuts in the shortcuts area, drag and drop an app shortcut to the required location.
